American YouTuber David Alvarez is best known for his comedy skits and vlogs on his popular YouTube channel David Alvareeezy, previously known as AlphaMonkeysDMC. Early Life
Mexican-origin American YouTuber Jose David Alvarez, who goes by the name of David Alvarez on social media, grew up in Bellflower, California.
David initially studied at St. John Bosco and then joined California State University Long Beach. Since his mother was a doctor in Mexico (before the family moved to the US), David was expected to take up medicine. He thus studied biology, focusing on physiology. He aspired to be a pediatrician.
However, after studying for three and a half years at medical school, he decided to drop out. His parents supported his decision, as his marked social media presence immediately got him an offer for channel management from Univision.

In his early days, David and his friends made comedy videos casually. He stepped into YouTube with his channel AlphaMonkeysDMC on December 22, 2012. His first video on the channel, 2012 End of Days?, was posted on December 12, 2012. He later renamed his channel David Alvareeezy. Mostly known for his vlogs and comedy skits, David later shot to fame with his truth or drink games, inspired by the YouTube channel Cut.
Over the years, David has collaborated with celebrities such as Vanessa and Veronica Merrell, Christian Seavey, and Crawford Collins. He is also close to singer and dancer Nezza. Some of his best-known videos on the channel are Growing Up Mexican CHRISTMAS EDITION, TOUCH MY BODY CHALLENGE, Hijacking A HOT GIRL’S TINDER, and Who’s the Better GIRLFRIEND Challenge (ft. The Merrell Twins). His funny content has garnered over 1.2 million subscribers. His #GrowingUpMexican mini-series got him 2 million cumulative views.
David has also promoted several brands, such as Coca-Cola, Jack in the Box, Old Spice, S.A.D., and McDonald’s. He has over 82,000 followers on Twitter, while his Instagram profile has garnered over 216,000 followers. He is managed by Whalar Talent Management.
Family Life
David’s parents are from Guadalajara, Jalisco. David grew up in the US with his four brothers, one of whom is his younger brother, Max Alvarez. After moving to the US, David’s parents took up odd jobs and lived paycheck-to-paycheck. His mother, a former doctor, took up two to three jobs at a time, while his father worked in construction.
David has dated travel blogger and vlogger Kimberly Li in the past. Kimberly has also appeared in a few of his videos. However, they parted ways later. In 2020, David began dating Grace Karghaian. Grace is an administrative assistant and client care specialist.
